If you want a title row that stretches across both columms, select the first row and click merge cells in the layout tab of the ribbon (under table tools), then set the horizontal alignment to center. Often the same template is used for different label products, sometimes the template isn't made available until after the software is released, & some templates just aren't used commonly enough to warrant including them. As discussed in my page on file new variations, you can also use the legacy templates dialog with the user templates and workgroup templates folders. I can copy all my text into a new word document and it will print, i can save the new document, but leave it open, and it will still print. I created a word document (office 365) that i set up as a template (dot.m) stored in custom office templates folder. I'm sure there are other reasons as well.
